It was a great hike, beautiful landscape and lots of pretty vegetation along the way, your blog was much appreciated. The Eo9 bus now runs every ten minutes, and was quite nice to take (you need 1.85 euros in cash per person, so bring a bit of cash if you want to take that option; and there is no Uber or Lyft service in town).

Hi again, Bob! In San Pedro/Pasaia, we always stay with our good friend Oskar who rents his flat on Booking and Airbnb: https://www.booking.com/hotel/es/marina-de-pasaia.es.html
He is a wonderful host and we share a great friendship, but the apartment has several rooms and it might be big for just you and your wife. But the neighborhood is fantastic and you are right, you will find much better prices that what’s available in downtown San Sebastian.

Hi Bob, thank you for your wonderful comments! I apologize for not writing back to you sooner…as you might have noticed, my blog has languished a little bit since the arrival of our third child. We are still nomads at heart, however, and are just now getting ready to leave Spain for a year in South America! If you don’t see me blogging too much on OlivertheWorld, that’s because we are very busy with our latest project, The Luena Foundation http://www.luena.org.
And that is a crazy coincidence about Diego del Gastor!!!! He is a hero in our little pueblo! I’ve had my son in classical guitar lessons in Algodonales, hoping that some of the local legacy will rub off on him.

Hi! Sorry for the late reply! I am pretty sure that waterfall was in the Reykjadalur valley, about 45km from Reykjavik.

I can’t believe you ended up in Gastor. Diego del Gastor was my teacher in Moron de la Frontera 47 years ago. Here is the story and some music you will enjoy: https://bobweisenberg.wordpress.com/american-gypsy-complete-cd/

Very happy to have run into you online. My wife and I have been living the nomadic life for almost four years now, with no end in sight. I can’t wait to dig into your blog and find out what your favorite places have been, particularly given the quality of your writing and photos. Thank you!

My wife and I will be in San Sebastian for three months, Sept. thru Nov., and your article make me even more excited. We might even consider staying in San Pedro instead of the city, since the bus connections are so good, and the prices are lower. Do you know of any apartments to recommend? Would you choose San Pedro again? Thanks again for posting and writing this. It is the best kind of travel blogging.

Could you tell me where it is located, we are heading there in May 🙂

It was awesome. We hiked from San Sebastian to Pasai and took a bus back. Go to a pub after you arrive in Pasai, they are very friendly and like the rest of Spain it is dirt cheap.
